Super Bowl Sunday is this coming Sunday at 3:30 PM. Here’s what you need to know.

What: Super Bowl LV (55)

Who: Kansas City Chiefs @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

When: Sunday, February 7, 2021 @3:30 PM

Where to watch: CBS TV Channel or the CBS Sports App

The Kansas City Chiefs will be playing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for Super Bowl LV (55). The Kansas City Chiefs are returning from winning last year’s Super Bowl LIV against the San Francisco 49ers; while this is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ first time in this championship game.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Super Bowl 55 will have the least in-person attendance, as we can expect. However, there will still be a great Halftime Show by the Weeknd, and many other stars, including but certainly not limited to: Daft Punk, Ariana Grande, Kendrick Lamar, and Juice WRLD. 14,000 fans and 7,500 vaccinated health care workers will attend and watch the game live from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. Super Bowl 55 is truly different from any other.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a wild-card team, will be the first team to play the Super Bowl in its home stadium. This will be the 10th Super Bowl appearance, the most in NFL history, for Tom Brady, their quarterback. To get their spot in the Super Bowl, the Buccaneers defeated the Green Bay Packers 31-26 in the National Football Conference Championship Game. The Buccaneers’s record for this season 11-5, and they will be wearing white for the game.

The Kansas City Chiefs are led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Patrick Mahomes was the National Football League’s MVP (Most Valuable Player) after the Chief’s comeback win in Super Bowl 54 against the San Francisco 49ers. The Chiefs beat the Buffalo Bills in the American Football Conference Championship game 38-24. They are coming into the NFL Championship Game with a record of 14-2 wearing their red home jerseys, the same color they won with last year.

The Chiefs beat the Buccaneers 27-24 during the regular 2020 season in November, and their matchup is guaranteed to be a thrilling game this Sunday. Will this be a back-to-back win for the Chiefs or will the Tampa Bay Buccaneers be the first team to win the NFL championship game in a home stadium?
